In an effort to differentiate
itself from the competition, Loews Hotels is partnering with Fiat. While some locations will offer chauffeured
services to guests, others will offer loaner vehicles for up to three hours a
day.
Elizabeth Harlow, SVP of
Marketing for Loews Hotels says that they are looking to align themselves with
brands that share their core values -- i.e. exciting, approachable and local.
(Irwin, 2014)
So what do you think? Is this a good partnership? Will it generate more sales for both parties?

I think Lowes Hotels partnering with Fiat would be a good partnership and will generate more sales for both parties because this formula has been proven before, ie. Amex with airlines/hotels. As Elizabeth Harlow, SVP of Marketing for Lowes mentioned they are looking to align themselves with brands that share their core values of exciting, approachable and local as Fiat is both exciting and approachable.
It will work because they are not each other's competitor but rather complement each other as they offer different products and services. Typically consumers who book hotels also need car rentals or car service to take them around. So this partnership makes a lot of sense from a customer stance -- it's more convenient, not to mention a nice perk for the consumers which is good customer service.
